Tracy Kay

Tracy Kay, a Georgia native now living in Southern California, is one of the hosts and spokespersons for World Team Poker.

Tracy has hosted, starred in, and produced numerous projects for film and television. She recently co-produced and starred in "The Dollhouse," which aired on the Independent Film Channel, and she has hosted "X Show" for FX and "Hotlines" for Spike TV.  She has co-starred on hit the TV shows "CSI-NY" and "Malcolm in the Middle", and appeared in supporting roles in blockbuster films such as "The Scorpion King" and "Tomcats." Tracy started her own business at age 18, selling hair products to salons, before finding work as a model in the Miami area.  Since moving to Los Angeles, she has made the successful transition from modeling to producing, acting, and hosting.  Our World Team Staff Reporter recently caught up with Tracy for a quick interview.

WTSR: You have accomplished a lot in your career. What motivates you?

TK: I am a very passionate person and that is what motivates me. I am passionate about my family, my friends, my career, my art, and giving something back to my community.

WTSR:  Were you a poker player before World Team Poker found you?

TK: I learned to play poker with my dad. I was probably 6 at the time and had so much fun playing against him and my brother, especially when I started to win. I lost touch with it for years while I was working in school and then on my career. I began again when the Texas Hold 'Em craze took hold of my friends. I fell right back into step with the home games. The excitement of the competition and the psychology of the game is thrilling to me. When World Team Poker approached me about hosting the show, I found it to be perfect opportunity to dedicate more time to getting to know the players and the games again. Now I have several pro-friends all of which I am learning from.

WTSR: Do you have a favorite World Team Poker team or a favorite poker player?

TK: Aww come on, you know I can't pick favorites as long as I am hosting the show (at least not on the record).

WTSR:  What have you worked on recently?

TK: I just finished Co-Writing, Producing and Starring in a film called "Redemption". It is a very moving film about the downfall of an athlete and his struggle to overcome addiction

WTSR:  Are you involved with any charities?

TK: I just hosted a great charity poker event at M.E.N.D. which stands for Meet Each Need With Dignity. It is the largest poverty agency in the Valley. It is privately funded and uses less than 6% of the donations for overhead. You can join in volunteering or give a donation at mendpoverty.org.

WTSR:  Thanks Tracy.  We look forward to seeing you on the show!
