Phil Hellmuth, Jr. was born in Madison, Wisconsin. In 1989 Hellmuth won the World Series of Poker Main Event beating two time champion Johnny Chan. Hellmuth was 24 at the time, the youngest player ever to win the main event. He held that record for 19 years, until 2008. Hellmuth’s antics at the table have earned him the nickname, “Poker Brat.” Over the course of his career, Hellmuth has won an amazing 11 WSOP bracelets - more than any other player. He has the most cashes – 75 – at the WSOP and has made 41 WSOP final tables. Hellmuth was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in 2007. Hellmuth cashed in 6 events at this year’s WSOP, including a deep run in the main event. Hellmuth has 40 career wins and 204 cashes.
