Michael Mizrachi and Hasan Habib Make it to WSOP Day 8!
Saturday, 17 July 2010 14:23 By Staff

Michael Mizrachi had a roller coaster ride yesterday.  After starting out the day with 8.3 million, good for 2nd in chips, he started on a downward trend, and tangled in a large pot with Patrick Eskander when Eskander’s  A T beat Mizrachi’s A 3, sending Mizrachi’s chips to 3.4 million and 30th place.  Mizrachi was able to chip his way back to 9.5 million in chips, but took another tumble later in the day,  just before the 27 player mark.  Mizrachi enters the day with 5.5 million chips, currently in 17th place.

Team Pakistan Captain Hasan Habib is still in it.  Unlike the ride Mizrachi faced yesterday, Habib was at or near the bottom of the pack all day yesterday, but managed  to evade elimination.  He enters today with 2.160 million chips, in 25th place.

Not making it to Day 8 were Team Caribbean Island Nations captain Jean-Robert Bellande, who went out in 77th place and Team Israel’s David Benyamine, who went out in 58th place.

The chip leader,  Joseph Cheong, has 24.490 million in chips.  Mizrachi and Habib have some work to do to make it to the final table, but these two seasoned players definitely have the skills to make it.
