What Is World Team Poker?

World Team Poker is an international team poker league.  Each Team is led by a Team Captain selected by World Team Poker.  The Team Captain selects four professional poker players and one alternate to play on the Team.  Teams will compete under the banners of their respective countries.  

The Teams will compete in regular season League Matches.  The end of the season culminates in a Championship Event in the tradition of the Super Bowl, World Series, or NBA Finals, where the Teams will battle it out for “Pride, Passion, Country” and the ultimate title: World Team Poker Champions!

How Is World Team Poker Different From Other Poker Tournaments That Have Been On TV?

• What makes World Team Poker unique from any other poker event is that Team Captains can play, coach and substitute players throughout the game, making exciting reality entertainment.
• World Team Poker consists of well known professional poker players, unlike the final tables of mostly unknown players that are typically shown on other broadcasts.
• World Team Poker’s unique feature, coaching and player substitution is new to poker.  Imagine watching Phil, Johnny and Men coaching their teams…this is not only an exciting poker event, but the story and drama provides for great reality entertainment!
• World Team Poker’s internet broadcasts will be broadcast with a short time delay, so viewers will witness the action almost as it unfolds.  The tournament web casts will make use of hole cam technology, allowing the audience to see the players' hole cards.
• The broadcasts will be accompanied by commentary as well as interviews with the players and coaches.
• The internet broadcasts will feature interactive chat, where selected viewer questions will be answered live on the broadcast.

What Kind Of Tournaments Are There?

There will be Limit Hold'em, No Limit, Pot Limit, Stud, Omaha and possibly others to truly test and prove the ability of all teams to master and be champions of all poker games, not just one.
