The economy did not stop 7,319 players from entering the WSOP Main Event this year, making it the second largest poker tournament ever, since the 2006 Main Event. Poker continues to thrive.

Going into day 6, with 205 players remaining, Johnny Chan is currently 9th in chips, with 2.559 million chips. Johnny has had an amazing main event, sitting at or near the top of the leaderboard every day. Also having a great world series are brothers Michael Mizrachi with 1.74 million chips and Robert Mizrachi with 274k chips. Jean-Robert Bellande is still in it with 946k chips, as is David Benyamine with 353k chips and Hasan Habib with 266k chips.
